Look Outside Your Window

As I look outside through the window of my world, I see the sun. The hope of the day. The light of the world and the joys of warmth. Through the window is snow that covers the grasses and brings a sense of peace as we navigate the coldness and storms of the winter. I sit at my desk daily and find myself not taking the time to observe the beauty that lies right infront of me.

The serenity of Mother Nature. The beauty of all that surrounds me. I take it for granted. I am too “busy” checking emails, focused on the future, in thought about the past or future regrets I may have if I don’t start taking action on specific tasks that will eventually somehow make me happy.

I write. Let it out and let it breathe. Stop giving the frustrations of life so much power over me when the solutions of joy and satisfaction are in the moments of daily living not the busyness of life. Centuries ago life wasn’t so busy. We created busy. In the same sense, we can create our own version of serenity and calm.

As human beings, we are to BE, not do. We aren’t supposed to be over thinking so much. We are to be in the moment. Why is it so hard to BE in the moment? It is time we take our moments back. No more scrolling mindlessly on social media. No more addiction to TV binging or over-thinking next steps in life.

It is time for us ALL to slow down and BE. That’s it.

How do we do that?

The answer is simple. We don’t “do” it. We connect to our senses and intuition and begin the practice of observing again. Doing nothing but observing and paying attention to exactly what is infront of us. More will be shown as we sit in the moments and allow them to be.

How can you BE more mindful? Drop the distractions for 5 minutes a day. BE in the moment that exists, breathe in the moment and remind your soul that you are listening and here. You may find peace and joy without searching for something else…go ahead, really look outside your window once in awhile.

You may be surprised what it reveals.
